Description
Black's dark reign over Sprunki City takes center stage as Wenda, Gray, and Pinki stand against him—but this isn’t just a battle of power, it’s a clash of history and redemption. When Wenda confronts Black about his past, a heart-wrenching tale unfolds: one of love, loss, and corruption brought on by a sinister, cosmic hat. As the truth of their shared past resurfaces, Gray and Pinki realize Black was once their father figure, twisted by an ancient evil. With Wenda’s life on the line, the group must find a way to strip Black of the hat's influence before it’s too late. Plot
The episode begins with Black, in his Phase 2 Form, attacking Wenda, Gray, and Pinki while floating in the sky outside of Sprunki Town. Wenda goes in front of Gray and Pinki, guarding them from Black as he lands on the ground and tells him to leave them alone. Wenda then tells Black that he "wasn't always like this" only for him to angrily replies "You don't know a thing about my past". He speeds toward and behind the three Sprunkis and attacks them, knocking Gray and Pinki out while Wenda is still conscious and continues saying that "they told me what happened" and that she knows everything about how Black "abandoned them". Black, while floating above the unconscious Gray and Pinki, says that what Wenda knows is "only their version of the story" and that his past is "far more complicated than that" and he begins to explain his past.
Black was originally a normal Sprunki (not wearing his hat) with no powers and he lived in a house with his wife, Magenta. One night, the two were asleep until they heard music coming through their bedroom window, waking them up. Magenta begged Black to check where the music is coming from, saying that whatever is making the music sounded like it's in pain. Black reluctantly agreed, got out of bed, grabbed a flashlight from a drawer, and headed outside to check where the music is coming from. Black saw the music is coming from a bush and went toward it while asking if anyone is in it. The music suddenly changds to voices calling out for help. Black moved the bush leaves to see Gray and Pinki, both young children, who are stucked in the bush thorns and they asked him for his help. Black grabbed a pair of garden shears to cut the thorns and freed Gray and Pinki and the two thanked him for that.
Having saved Gray and Pinki, Black told them to "go back where you come from" but they told him that they are orphans. Magenta came outside, saw Gray and Pinki, and told Black that she and Black should adopt them. She then went toward Gray and Pinki, picked them up, and begged Black to adopt them with Gray and Pinki also begging him too. Black suddenly got a vision of him being furious at Gray and Pinki, who are crying and have suitcases, telling them that it's all "their fault" and demanding them to leave. Black returned from the vision and is hesitant to adopt Gray and Pinki who are hugging him. Magenta told him that she always wanted kids and added Gray and Pinki appearing is a "sign" to them so he, admitting that they are cute, accepted to adopt them, making Magenta, Gray, and Pinki extremely happy as they all hugged Black. The present Black tells that him adopting Gray and Pinki would "tear his world apart".
The four are in the backyard with Gray playing on the monkey bars and Magenta pushing Pinki on a swing with Black watching them. Gray jumped onto the next bar but it broke and Gray fell to the ground and is injured upon impact with the ground. Black and Magenta heard Gray's scream and went toward Gray while Pinki stayed behind on the swing. Magenta picked up Gray and asked Black to get bandages and an ice pack from the house. Black went toward and entered the house but suddenly stopped when he heard an ominous melody and went back outside to see where it's coming from. The world suddenly turned red around Black but returned to normal when Magenta called out to him and Black went back inside the house to get the bandages and ice pack.
The present Black explains how the ominous music was calling out to him and he couldn't get the music out of his head. It is night time and both Black and Magenta are sleeping in their bedroom. Black suddenly heard the ominous music again, waking him up and he decided to check it out to know what it is. He went outside and saw a hole where the ominous music is coming from so he went toward it and a hat flew out of the hole. He grabbed it to inspect it and threw it back in the hole, thinking it's better to leave it alone but the hat grew an eye, called out to Black which scared him, it flew out of the hole again and went straight toward Black who caught it. It told Black that the powers of the universe live inside it and that Black can harness the power too by putting it on. Black refused the hat's offer so it flew to his head and put itself onto him, causing Black to transform into his Phase 2 form and be influenced by it. Black then headed inside the house with the hat saying "it's time".
Gray and Pinki are sleeping in their room until they are woken up by Black and are frightened by his appearance so they ran away from him and ran to the kitchen where Magenta is. They tried to warn Magenta about Black but she thought that Black is just cranky from sleeping horribly until she turned around and saw Black approached Gray and Pinki, frightened by his appearance. Magenta told Black that something is wrong with him only for him to walked toward her and told her that nothing is wrong. He then used a tentacle to grab Gray and Pinki but they dodged it and ran away from Black. They ran into into a hallway but Black teleported in front of them, stopping them, and used his tentacles to kill them but Magenta got in front of them and the tentacles killed her instead, devastating Black, Gray, and Pinki. Black furiously blamed Gray and Pinki for Magenta's death and demanded them to leave to which they do. Black went to hold his dead wife and is still shocked that he killed her but realized the hat made him killed her.
Gray and Pinki ran away far away from Black's house and they eventually arrived at Sprunki Town and although hesitate, they entered the town where they met Wenda and became residents of Sprunki Town. Back at Black's house, Black is fighting his hat while telling it that he doesn't want its powers and managed to knock it off, returning him to normal. Black then grabbed the hat and threw it inside a box where it got locked up and he decided to stay in his house forever to ensure that both the hat and him will never harm anyone again.
Black stayed in his house for years until one day, he decided to look for Gray and Pinki to apologize to them and so, he went out to go search for them and he eventually arrived at Sprunki Town and upon arrival, he saw Gray and Pinki who are all grown up. Black was happy to find them and to see them happy with their lives but unfortunately, they don't remembered Black, devastating him. Black sadly returned to his house where the hat told him to get revenge on them for "abandoning him" and Black, persuaded by its words, released the hat from the box, ending the story.
Back in the present, Black continues attacking Wenda and tells that Gray and Pinki are the ones who "abandoned him". Gray and Pinki are shock by Black's explanation and they begins remembering their past of them with Black and Magenta and how Black was like a father to them. The two realizes that the hat is the one doing all this chaos so they must defeat it to save both Wenda and also Black. Black, floating in the sky, is about to kill Wenda when Gray and Pinki gets in front of her, protecting her. Black is unable to kill them because of his love for them, realizes that the hat is making him do all the chaos, and tells them to get it off of him as he lands on the ground. Gray grabs the hat while Pinki grabs Black and they pulls the two apeart and manages to separate them, freeing Black from the hat's influence. Black is happy that Gray and Pinki remembered him and the two hugs him. The three are unaware about the hat, that was thrown onto the ground, opening its eye and looking at them, ending the episode.
