— Veteran, Squid Game Logic: Marbles
|
Barry Busch Jr., better known by his gamertag “Veteran,” is the deuteragonist of GameToons. He made his first appearance in Fall Guys Logic and is mostly known for his appearances in Among Us Logic. He is usually found wearing a crown or other clothing items resembling or symbolizing a crown. He also appears in Minecraft Logic (as Veterham), Friday Night Funkin' Logic as the counterpart Veto and as the deuteragonist in Squid Game Logic. He adventures through different video game and show worlds alongside his best friend Player and Captain.
Biography[]
According to Veteran, he studied online at DeVry University and finished 12th in his class.
Veteran perfected his gaming skills in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. He met Player through the game, and later switched over to play Among Us with him, where they became best friends. He continues to make appearances in GameToons animations as a major character.
Personality[]
His name notwithstanding, Veteran usually spends most of his free time playing video games such as Fall Guys and Among Us. He lives at a trailer park with his mother as an only child and is very spoiled, leading to his entitled behavior. He frequently acts dimwitted and dismissive of the people around him. Veteran is fairly unskilled at Among Us, as he is somewhat naïve and gets distracted easily, examples being that he correctly deduced that Player was an impostor in Among Us Logic 8 based on context clues, but he also fell for TheGentleman's smooth talk in Among Us Logic 3. He is fairly competent as an impostor, but can be a liability when a crewmate, it’s unknown if he does this purposefully to troll or not. Because he considers Player his best friend, he tends to trust him more than anyone else, whether that turns out well for him or not. His loyalty to Player does have its limits, as shown in Among Us Logic 4 when he rats Player out to the other players as the impostor as revenge for Player killing Greaser. He was utterly crushed when Player snubbed him in the next episode. He is shown to be more serious when he plays Fall Guys, and less serious when he plays games like Among Us and Slither.io.
Veteran can be immature at times. He visits a children's therapist for his short-term memory loss issues ("the forgetsies" as he calls them) and is excited to get a toy at each session. He also buys children’s meals frequently as they cost less.
In Squid Game Logic, he acts very antagonistic and selfish in order to win the jackpot, killing several people with no remorse and laughing upon their demise. He takes Player under his wing at the facility as he pities his circumstances.
Relationships[]
- Player - After meeting in Fall Guys Logic, Veteran and Player became close friends quickly and they both enjoy each other’s company greatly. They can usually be found together playing games, with Veteran almost always winning. He frequently teases Player about his inability to win and standoffish serious behavior.
“ | Veteran, my best friend! My new best friend! | ” |
— Captain, GameToons Gaming
|
- Captain - While originally seeing Captain as a “creep” obsessed with Player, eventually he and Captain bond over Player’s absence from the group, and hang out a lot more. It’s hinted that Veteran doesn’t approve of the way Player treats Captain, telling him in HALLOWEEN Takes Over GAMETOONS to let Captain be excited over their reunion instead of complaining like he usually does. While being better friends, they do still occasionally bicker over trivial things.
“ | Ew, WE joined up? I didn’t dream that?! | ” |
— Noob, Squid Game Logic: Honeycomb
|
- Noob - Noob and Veteran do not get along at all. He holds an unfair grudge against her once she beat him in Fall Guys Logic 2. In Among Us Logic 16, Veteran manipulates the lobby into voting for her so he could win as he found her reappearance annoying. In Squid Game Logic, their hatred of each other is extremely noticeable, as Noob constantly airs her grievances with his presence as he ignores their pleas to vote for the killing games to stop out of greed. In Squid Game Logic: Marbles, Veteran attempts to kill Noob during the game by pushing her off and advises Player not to save her when it’s revealed she survived his push. He is later stabbed in the back by Noob and killed during the final battle.
- Greaser - In Among Us Logic 2, Veteran is shown to be a huge fan of the lobby’s newest player, Greaser. Unfortunately for him, Greaser is killed quickly by Player before they could properly interact, pushing him to tears.

— Engineer upon Veteran’s death, Among Us Logic 8
|
- Engineer - After Veteran’s death in Among Us Logic 8, Engineer claims that he, Gnome and Veteran play frisbee golf together on the weekends, which he calls frolfing.
“ | He was like a brother to us! | ” |
— Gnome, Among Us Logic 8
|
- Gnome - While not having a lot of interactions in the series, Gnome claims that Veteran is like a brother to her and Engineer upon his death in Among Us Logic 8 and that they play frisbee golf together on the weekends. In Among Us Logic: The Fat Impostor, Gnome begs the crew to vote out Veteran for killing Player and torturing Mr. Egg, only for Veteran to point the blame at Captain’s leadership skills.
